Based on the 1920/21 prose poem of the same name by H.P. Lovecraft. The basic sentiment of the work is that nothingness is preferable to life. Ricky told me:

“I really like how at the end of the HPL piece the protagonist finds complete nihil at the end of his quest (as expected) but then ends up embracing it over “the daemon Life”.  So, basically, the song is a reflection of the freedom granted by choosing existential nothingness.”
