The song itself does not seem to be based on anything in particular, besides a ritual in general, but the straw effigy at the end is a nod to the the film The Wicker Man (1973) which is in turn based on the novel Ritual by David Pinner, published in 1967. Ricky related to me the significance of the straw effigy:

The straw effigy is also a nod back to NECRONOMIDOL’s early times – even though there’s been a lot of change and (hopefully) growth over the last 7 years I don’t want to lose track of where the group came from or what I initially intended to make it into.  Of course burning the effigy isn’t intended to symbolize destroying anything from that period, it just looks a hell of a lot cooler than hammering a nail in.

There is an MV for the song which was recorded on February 8th/9th, 2021 and released on February 20th 2021. It was directed by Ricky Wilson.
